Product Description
Red Shift Cams RS558 Performance Camshaft - Milwaukee Eight Modified Engines
High-performance power cam from the Red Shift Cams platform for modified Milwaukee-Eight engines. Designed to provide a strong power curve with additional peak power when used with high-flow heads, induction, and exhaust systems. Engineered to enhance the unique cylinder head layout of the Milwaukee-Eight engine. Designed to be used with 1.64:1 rocker ratio and conventional 0.580" lift performance valve springs. Keeps total valve lift within safe zone of 0.575-0.580" lift at the valve while reducing stress on valve springs. Chain drive only. Not for use with VVT (Variable Valve Timing) equipped engines. Ideal for modified, high-compression, large-displacement performance engines. Consider upgrading rocker arm hardware with higher-quality aftermarket studs and shafts when building high-compression engines. Optional dual piston cam chain tensioner and sprocket kits available (Part 413-801).

Why Upgrade?
The RS558 is a power cam designed specifically for riders building modified Milwaukee-Eight engines with high-flow heads, aggressive induction, and performance exhaust systems. This grind provides a strong power curve with additional peak power—exactly what you want when you've invested in a serious performance build. The RS558 is engineered to work with 1.64:1 rocker ratio and conventional 0.580" lift performance valve springs. The key advantage here is that by using the 1.64:1 rocker ratio (higher than the factory 1.6:1), you gain more lift potential while the cam and spring combination keep total valve lift within the safe 0.575-0.580" range at the valve. This reduces stress on valve springs and promotes long component life. The design takes advantage of the unique cylinder head layout of the Milwaukee-Eight engine, optimizing power delivery for modified builds. This is not a cam for stock bikes or riders running stock cylinder heads and intake systems—it's purpose-built for the modified enthusiast who wants to extract maximum power from their M8. Chain drive only. Not for VVT equipped engines. Zipper's recommends upgrading rocker arm hardware with higher-quality aftermarket studs and shafts when building high-compression, large-displacement performance engines. Optional dual piston cam chain tensioner and sprocket kits available for a stronger, more durable valve train (Part 413-801). If you're building a serious modified M8 performance engine and want a cam that delivers real power, the RS558 is your answer. Not legal for sale or use in California or on any EPA pollution-controlled motor vehicles.
