ThunderMax ECM with AutoTune for Harley Dyna, Softail & Sportster

Take complete control of your Harley-Davidson's fuel injection and engine management with the ThunderMax ECM with AutoTune. Unlike a piggyback fuel tuner that modifies signals going to the factory ECM, ThunderMax completely replaces the stock engine control module with a high-performance standalone ECM designed specifically for EFI-equipped Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

At the heart of the ThunderMax system is its integral closed-loop AutoTune technology. Two included wide-band oxygen sensors continuously monitor the engine's air/fuel ratio while you ride, allowing the ECM to make real-time fueling adjustments based on actual operating conditions. Changes in temperature, altitude, riding style and engine load can all be compensated for automatically without requiring constant manual adjustment.

Installation begins by selecting and loading a ThunderMax basemap that closely matches your motorcycle's engine displacement, exhaust, air cleaner, camshaft and other performance components. From there, AutoTune continuously refines the calibration as the motorcycle is ridden. This makes ThunderMax an excellent choice for both mildly modified street bikes and more extensive performance builds.

The ThunderMax ECM provides extensive tuning control through TMax Tuner software. Riders and tuners can adjust air/fuel targets, ignition timing, idle speed, rev limit, speedometer calibration, start-up fueling, warm-up settings, acceleration enrichment, deceleration settings and numerous other engine-management parameters.

ThunderMax also provides real-time engine monitoring, data recording and diagnostic capabilities. The system can read and clear diagnostic trouble codes and record engine operating data for more detailed tuning and troubleshooting.

Because ThunderMax replaces the factory ECM rather than simply adding an external fuel controller, the system can continue adapting as the motorcycle is modified. Changes such as exhaust systems, air cleaners, camshafts and other engine upgrades can be accommodated by loading an appropriate basemap and allowing AutoTune to refine the calibration.

Fitment

Harley-Davidson Softail: Fits compatible 2012-2015 Softail models equipped with cable-operated throttle and the applicable factory ECM configuration.

Harley-Davidson Dyna: Fits compatible 2012-2017 Dyna models equipped with cable-operated throttle, including Street Bob, Fat Bob, Wide Glide, Low Rider, Super Glide Custom and Switchback applications where specified.

Harley-Davidson Sportster: Fits compatible 2014-2022 XL Sportster models including Iron 883, SuperLow, Iron 1200, 1200 Custom, Roadster, Forty-Eight and related applications.

Important: Certain CVO and specialty models use a different ThunderMax ECM. 2016-2017 Low Rider S models, for example, are listed by ThunderMax under a different application. Verify your exact year and model before ordering.

Oxygen Sensor Note: ThunderMax uses 18mm wide-band oxygen sensors. Many factory exhaust systems use smaller 12mm O2 sensor ports. If your exhaust does not have 18mm O2 sensor bungs, modification or installation of compatible 18mm bungs may be required. O2 sensor bungs are not included.
