S&S Heavy-Duty Compensator Spring for Harley Twin Cam & Milwaukee-Eight

Upgrade your Harley-Davidson primary drive with the S&S Heavy-Duty Compensator Spring. Designed as a premium drop-in replacement for the factory small Belleville compensator spring, S&S Part #560-0475 increases spring force and compensator preload to better control the torque pulses produced by high-output Harley-Davidson Twin Cam and Milwaukee-Eight engines.

The S&S spring is engineered to be approximately 200% stiffer than the OEM small compensator spring it replaces. The increased spring rate provides approximately 50% more system preload and a 32% average increase in torsional stiffness throughout the compensator ramp's range of travel.

Increasing compensator stiffness helps control sudden torque spikes before they are transferred farther through the drivetrain. This provides additional protection for downstream components including the clutch and transmission, making the S&S spring an especially useful upgrade for large-displacement, high-compression and other high-output engine combinations.

The increased preload also helps stabilize the compensator during starting, shutdown and low-RPM operation. Riders may notice smoother roll-on throttle response at lower engine speeds along with reduced compensator shutter, startup clatter and shutdown noise.

Softail: Fits compatible 2012-Up Softail models using the applicable compensator assembly.

CVO: Fits compatible 2010-Up CVO Big Twin models.

Trike: Fits compatible 2009-Up Harley-Davidson Trike models.

Rocker / Rocker C: Fits compatible 2008-2011 FXCW Rocker and FXCWC Rocker C models.

Earlier Twin Cam Applications: S&S states that the spring can also be used on 2006-Up Dyna and 2007-Up Twin Cam models that have been updated to a 2014-Up-style compensator assembly.

Important: The S&S compensator spring is designed as an upgrade for a serviceable compensator assembly. It will not repair an excessively worn, damaged or failed compensator.

Note: Verify your motorcycle's compensator configuration before ordering, particularly on earlier Twin Cam models that may have been updated with a later-style compensator.
