Stock Road Glide turns Fast Johnnie Performance Bagger

Stock Road Glide turns Fast Johnnie Performance Bagger

5 minute read

Great things take time, or maybe just a few different paint colors. Either way, one of our awesome customers was kind enough to let us take his bike through a few "phases" of upgrades. Each time the bike came in, it left with that touch of custom we love.

This bike started out as a 2021 Billard Teal Road Glide. Fast forward to 2025, this bike is now sporting a full set of Fast Johnnie tins and just about every upgrade you could hope for in a performance bagger.

Lets take a quick walk through some of the upgrades this bike has seen. Our customer started with the bars, foot controls, exhaust and calipers. Front & Rear calipers were upgraded to GBrakes Wave rotors.

Stock bars were swapped out for some Kraus Straight risers, ODI bars, ODI x Hart-Luck Grips, Kraus Billet Gauge Bezel and Raptor plate.

A new screamin Eagle air cleaner was installed along with the TBR exhuast, Saddlemen Pro Series Seat and Flo V5 Floorboards and Pedals.

This was the first round of upgrades complete.

The next time we saw this bike, it had some fresh white paint along with a CVO lower spoiler added. It came into the shop for some mo' power as well as some cosmetic upgrades. We installed the S&S 475 cam chest kit which includes the black pushrod covers, cam chest, oil pump and a few other internals. An MJK air cleaner was also installed to allow more air into the motor.

Front and rear suspension was upgraded to Ohlins. We installed the FKS 228 cartridge kit in the front and Ohlins shocks in the back. At the time the HD 044 required separate mounts to locate the reservoirs in the back (shown below with Kraus mounts). In the last year or so Ohlins came out with their current HD 779 models, which now come with rear mounts. So you no longer need to buy them separately.

A custom Blue stitch Saddlemen X SDC Pro Gripper seat was ordered to go with the MJK air cleaner. The headlight setup was upgraded using the A10 Moto White LP6 kit. Cosmetic upgrades also included the Santoro Fabworx Not Yo Daddys CVO crash Guard to fit with the spoiler. Carbon Fiber front fender from DTF Performance and Carbon Fiber Dash Cover.

A few months later we were back at it. A10 Moto had released their new S1 Turn Signal kits, so we added the white option to match the headlights.

We also dropped in a S&S 132" motor and upgraded the transmission to a Baker Grudgebox. When adding more hp and tq, its important upgrade the rest of the drive train. Baker's Grudgebox is designed to handle a heavier load all while maintaining a smooth feel through the gears.

Some new wheels were also on deck for this bike. Front and Rear BST Carbon Fibers wheels rapped in Metzeler CruiseTec (Front / Rear) tires were added. Brembo .484 Cafe Front Radial Mount Calipers were installed on the front and a single on the rear.

The fairing now has a 9" Black Klock Werks windsheld as well as the LS Fabworx oil cooler kit. The exhaust was swapped over to the HPI Shorty pipe. Some new Stocker mirrors from Arlen Ness and Saddlemen's new Tour Step-Up seat were added.

Santoro Fabworx Not Yo Daddy's Bag Guards were added for some additional protection to the back of the bike. And an MJK chain drive conversion kit was also installed while the primary was upgraded to hold that 132" power.

Just when you think this bike couldn't get any better, our customer found a set of take off Fast Johnnie tins and asked if we could do the swap. He also wanted to upgrade the rear fender to a carbon fiber option all while keeping the Fast Johnnie style. We used the Slyfox Carbon Fiber Rear fender on this bike.

To add that custom feel, we had a local paint shop match the Fast Johnnie Blue and white design while leaving a thin strip of carbon fiber exposed. We also reached out to a local artist Dewayne from DOA Flatliners to hand paint the iconic Harley Enthusiast Collection on the back.

We are thrilled with how this bike has turned out over the span of 4 years. We enjoy working on projects like this that allows us to bring an idea or design to life. It takes a lot of time, skill, effort and money to get this bike to where it's is now. It shows how many ways you can upgrade your bike and change it over time. This is a Harley bagger that most riders would love to be able to call their own. We are grateful for our customers who trust us to build these beautiful machines.

At the end of the day, life is too short to leave your Harley stock. So yeah - upgrade those shocks, change the bars to help you feel more comfortable on the road. Get a custom seat. There are endless options out there. Find the best setup and style that you like, because that's what it's all about.
