Replace a worn or leaking transmission mainshaft seal with the James Gaskets JGI-12050 Main Drive Oil Seal. Designed for compatible 1984 through early-1994 Harley-Davidson Big Twin 5-speed transmissions, this high-quality replacement seal helps prevent transmission oil from leaking around the main drive gear and mainshaft area.
The transmission mainshaft seal is a critical component in keeping lubricant inside the transmission while allowing the rotating drivetrain components to operate smoothly. Age, heat, mileage and wear at the sealing surface can cause the original seal to harden, crack or develop leaks over time.

Harley-Davidson Big Twin: Fits compatible 1984 through early-1994 Big Twin models equipped with the factory-style 5-speed transmission.
Touring: Fits compatible Electra Glide, Tour Glide and early Road King applications equipped with the applicable 5-speed transmission.
Softail: Fits compatible 1984 through early-1994 Softail models including Softail Standard, Softail Custom, Heritage Softail, Heritage Softail Classic, Fat Boy and Springer Softail applications.
Dyna: Fits compatible 1991 through early-1994 Dyna models including Dyna Sturgis, Dyna Daytona, Dyna Glide Custom, Low Rider and Wide Glide applications.
FXR: Fits compatible 1984 through early-1994 FXR models equipped with the applicable 5-speed transmission.
OEM Replacement: Replaces Harley-Davidson OEM #12050.
Important: This seal is intended for 1984 through early-1994 Big Twin 5-speed transmissions. Late-1994 models use a different transmission mainshaft seal. Verify the original seal dimensions and transmission configuration before ordering.
