If you already own or plan on buying a new Simpson Outlaw Bandit, you'll want to keep in mind that Simpson made a slight update to the helmet that affects all Outlaw Bandit Helmets manufactured after January 1, 2017 and shipped after May 1, 2017. Simpson upgraded the attachment point, seal and pivot on the Outlaw Bandit. Why is this important? Well, it's nice to have a better version of the helmet while maintaining that slick Simpson style, but it also means that if you want to throw on a new face shield you'll have to purchase one for the proper version of your Outlaw Bandit.

Pick up a 2017 + Simpson Outlaw Bandit Face Shield

Maybe you're uncertain about the model of your Simpson helmet. Above you can see the difference between the pivots, but if you're still uncertain, here's how to double check when your Outlaw Bandit was manufactured. Simply peel back the back padding of the helmet to find a tag on the shell of the helmet. This is the date that your Outlaw Bandit was manufactured.

Prior to 2017? Grab a Pre-2017 Shield. Any date in 2017 or beyond? Pick up a 2017 + version of the shield. It's easy as that.

Visually, there's minimal difference. The shell is the same and so is the helmet liner, so stylistically you are getting the same helmet.
