Simpson M50 Helmet Review
The Simpson M50 Helmet is a retro classic reborn with modern comfort and DOT approval. Clearly designed with retro style to follow the mold made famous in the 70's you'll enjoy a simple, but distinct old school look. The M50 stands out well in the Simpson lineup, a nice alternative to the Bandits.

The chinbar is the head turner on the M50 with unique lines and cut-ins that lead to a grouping of four mouth vents up front. The large eyeport is designed to give you plenty of space to use a pair of goggles or protective sunglasses. With lightweight fiberglass construction, it's a well made 21st century retro lid.
The helmet ships with a five snap duckbill visor that's easy to pop on or off. If you want to ride with the visor to change up your look or to keep the sun out of your eyes, it's a nice option to have.
Moving inside the helmet, you'll find a comfortable liner. The helmet ships with an extra set of cheek pads if you need more width in that area - simply velcro them in or out. One downfall is that the interior liner itself is not removable so it'll be tough to wash.
During our test ride we enjoyed the lightweight feel of the M50 - the size medium we rode in weighed in at just 2 lbs 8 oz without the visor. You'll find venting only on the front chin bar, but it works out alright as the large eyeport let's plenty of air in. It's not the quietest helmet, but you're not buying the M50 for that.
While Simpson often keeps it straightforward with their colors, they've got a couple bonus options on this one - you've got the standards - matte black, gloss black and gloss white as well as matte gunmetal, red and yellow.
Like every product, we'll ship this Simpson helmet with fast, free shipping included anywhere in the Lower 48 states.
