S&S 475 Cam / SP Concepts - Low Rider S Stage 2 Upgrade
With all the different cam options on the market, how do you decide which is right for you? Sure you could ask your buddy, but how much does he really know. Everyone has a different opinion and while most cams will give you better performance over stock, It's important to know how you like to ride and what combo of parts (exhaust/ air intake/ cam) you're planing to use when you upgrade.
Do you like more power at the bottom end or do you stay higher in the rpm range. Where you ride matters too. Do you prefer highway or short bursts of speed on some back roads. We had a 2021 Low Rider S come in for a cam upgrade. Check out the parts we used and the final Dyna Chart for numbers and power curve.
Parts shown below include S&S 475 Cam, HPI 62mm Throttle body/Manifold, Trask Power Plate and Daytona Twin Tec 6.24 G/S High Performance Injectors.
Trask's new High Performance Power Plate & Spring Kit is designed specifically for high output M8 engines. It eliminates clutch slippage, proven to hold over 200HP. It's a 15 minute install and a cost effective upgrade and when adding power to your bike.
Once those pieces where done, the last piece was the exhaust. SP Concepts has been crafting high quality American Made exhaust for Harley models and we are liking what we see. These exhausts look good, they sound good and best of all they actually perform well. We went with their Big Bore Exhaust for this build. This pipe is designed to increase low to mid range torque and will accommodate 88" to 143" motors.
Final Dyno Chart is below. This combo pulled 124 HP / 130 TQ. You will notice 2 charts below, depending on if you are trying to compare SAE or STD charts. The more correct chart to use would be the SAE, but everyone has a different opinion on that too.
