At first glance the Scorpion Covert Helmet brings to mind a similar aggressive style that we’ve seen in the Bell Rogue helmet, but Scorpion went a few steps further and gave this helmet a convertible design along with some key integrated features.

One of the most noteworthy features in the Covert is the integrated drop down visor. It features two easy to grab pull tabs on either side and when fully closed seals seamlessly along the muzzle with the interior gasket. Another major element of this helmet is the removable front muzzle. It uses neodymium magnets to help guide it into the helmet then securely clicks into place. The muzzle also features mouth vents which provide both style and obvious airflow, but cannot be shut during the cooler months of riding. You'll also notice the integrated neck roll which is there for both style and comfort and helps convert the helmet from half helmet to its full face look. Keep in mind that while the Covert does have a full face appearance when fully intact, it is only DOT rated as a half shell helmet. You can wear the helmet in three different styles, but most riders will agree it looks best fully intact and will keep it in 'full face' mode.

The helmet ships with both a clear and a dark smoke retractable sunvisor, meaning you can swap them in or out for day or night time riding. Another nice touch for the Covert that you don’t see in the Bell Rogue helmet is the top ventilation system. It adds another layer of airflow to keep you comfortable while on your ride. Inside you'll find KwikWick Anti-Microbial lining on the neck roll and interior helmet liner which is going to help you stay cool during the hot weather and warm during the cooler weather. The neck roll and liner are also easily removable to wash or air dry after a hot day.

The Covert looks good in your choice of two color ways - either fully blacked out or in a camo-influenced Ratnik style.

We took the Covert out for a test ride and enjoyed it overall. It's a helmet built for moderate cruising, not for high speed. Things got a bit noisy up over 50 MPH. On the plus side, the helmet kept air moving well while still maintaining warmth. We had no issues with fogging and the helmet fit was quite comfortable. Our size medium weighed in at 3 lbs. 6 oz. While the Covert isn't built for speed, it’s a great option for riders headed around town and it's got a look you won't find anywhere else.

This is not your typical motorcycle helmet - we like that Scorpion really went for it and produced something that really stands out in the market. For just over $200 for either the black or the Ratnik camo style you get an aggressively styled helmet along with some nice key function features. Like every product, we'll ship the helmet fast and free anywhere in the Lower 48 states.
