Open Face Helmet Style Comparison Review

How's this helmet look on someone's head? It's an important question. Here's a side-by-side look at three of our favorite Open Face Helmets. All in Matte Black, The Bell Custom 500, Fly Street .38 and Biltwell Bonanza offer subtle shape differences. They also offer varying features, but our focus here is to simply show what they look like on a rider's head. Each helmet used was a size medium.

These retro style helmets are all DOT approved and register very close in weight. We weighed the same size medium helmets we used for the photo comparisons and found they all came in within a mere 1.4 oz. of each other.

• Bell Custom 500 - 2 lbs. 4.2 oz.

• Fly Street .38 - 2 lbs. 5.4 oz.

• Biltwell Bonanza - 2 lbs. 4 oz.

If you'd like to check out each helmet and the various styles and colorways available, follow the links below. You'll also find a range of custom styles from each brand with plenty of unique designs if you want to take a step beyond the single color format, as well as carbon options from Bell.
