The Icon 1000 Elsinore HP Boots are a variation of the original Elsinore Boots - which were initially released in 2012 and are still going strong today. The boots provide old-school motocross style fitted with an asphalt specific sole for the street rider.

The differences between the two essentially comes down to style, as Icon added a bold front stamped aluminum plate to match the rear heel plate. Icon also chose to use black stitching for the HP's rather than the yellow contrast in the originals and added lightning bolt details worked into the inside of each boot along the zipper.

That full medial zipper provides convenience, making it easy to put on or take off these high cuts boots. To add a more secure fit, outside buckles can be adjusted from the calf down the ankle to the bottom of the foot for a secure fit.
We found the fit to be pretty true to size and the buckle adjustments really helped to tighten things up. While the protection is apparent once you slide your foot inside, we also found the Elsinore HP to be quite comfortable.

One note about riding style - with a beefy toe and stiff ankle construction, they are generally more suited for a more upright riding position, so that's something to keep in mind.

With an internal steel shank and built-in ankle protection, the Elsinore's are designed to keep your foot safe. Don't expect these leather boots provide great ventilation - they're probably not the ideal boot to go out in during a sweltering summer day and they aren't built for extended walking, so bring an extra pair of kicks if you go for a ride and a hike afterwards.
