The Straight Savage Jacket is another addition from Speed and Strength targeted toward a cruiser style rider with minimal branding throughout. With a waxed cotton and leather combination, we like how they artfully combined the two. Riders have three color options on this one - the black that we're highlighting today along with brown and a subtle olive look.

The waxed cotton canvas gives riders that nice weathered look that'll give your jacket some nice personality. Covering the inside arms of the sleeves along with the torso base, the waxed construction stands out with stitched accents that provide extra style. You'll also find a couple adjustable velcro waist adjusters that'll let you keep the jacket as snug or loose around your waist as you need. It's a pretty timeless look and mixed with a removable internal hoodie, this jacket has some nice versatility.
Covering the rest of the jacket's exterior, the Straight Savage has four front pockets, with a couple chest pockets and two side pockets - all of them featuring YKK zippers. Speed and Strength also did a nice job of adding a little venting as cotton canvas won't breathe well without some help. The upper arm fronts have mesh interiors once unzipped for airflow and spin around and you'll find a couple more mesh vents that riders can unzip on each side of the back. The button snap Mandarin Collar is another nice touch stylistically.
Let's move inside - we'll find a removable hoody that easily zip in or out depending on how hot or cold it gets. It's a basic black hoody but a nice feature if you want a hood while you ride or some additional warmth. Diving into the interior of the main jacket, you'll see a full sewn-in mesh liner. It'll help to move the air and keep things a little cooler. Belt loops give you the opportunity to keep the jacket from riding up and a concealed carry pocket let's riders keep protection on-hand if they desire. Also inside you'll find the Removable package of Vault CE Approved Armor that covers your back, your shoulders and your elbows.
We like the versatility and styling of the Straight Savage quite a bit. It's a little heavy especially with the removable hooded liner in, but once you're on your bike that's something you probably won't think about too much. We find this jacket best suited for fall and cooler weather riding seasons. With the waxed canvas and leather combination, Speed and Strength went a little outside the box with quality results, while maintaining solid value in keeping the price under $300.
